RUSTON, La. - The Gray team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the lead and series with a 4-2 win over the Black team in Game 7 of this year's Fall World Series finale Sunday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

With the game tied at 1-1 going into the bottom half of the seventh, an RBI single by Bo Parker scored Lain Kranz from second base to take a 2-1 lead. Kimbell followed up with a bases loaded single to left field to plate two more runs and gave Gray a 4-1 lead after seven complete innings.

Black added one more run off a solo home run by senior Taylor Burch, but the ninth-inning rally fell short after that and Gray completed the series victory.

Freshman left hander Brett Bushnell pitched 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball for the Gray team, while allowing just two hits and striking out four batters. Eric Dunbar pitched the final 3.2 innings in relief and allowed two runs off three hits to wrap up the win.

For the Black team, freshman left hander Mark Baughman did not allow a run, while giving up just three hits in 4.1 innings of work. Brennan Marque came on in relief in the fifth and gave up four runs off five hits with four strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched. Clark Carlisle finished off the game for Black and did not allow a single hit or run in 1.1 innings.

Bre'shon Kimbell led the Gray team at the plate with a 2-for-4 performance with three RBI, while Austin Ward also put together a multiple-hit day with a 2-for-5 effort with two runs. Bo Parker, Ryan Jones, Pierce Spangler and Lain Kranz each had one hit apiece for Gray.

Taylor Burch was 2-for-3 at the dish for the Black team with a double, home run, two runs and an RBI. Colby Johnson, Chandler Hall and Bryce Dugas each had one hit in the game for a total of five for the Black team.

Today's game concluded the fall season for the Bulldogs, who will return to the diamond in February for the start of the 2014 campaign.
