RUSTON - Louisiana Tech (0-3) will return to the diamond at 3 p.m. Tuesday as the Bulldogs travel to play Arkansas-Little Rock (2-1) at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock, Ark. in the first midweek game of the season for both teams.
The Bulldogs are coming off a three-game series at UT Arlington that saw Tech get swept all three games by the Mavericks. The game tomorrow against the Trojans will mark the fourth road game for Tech in 2013, with the 'Dogs playing 12 of their first 18 games on the road to start the season.
Tech holds a 50-19 record over UALR, including two wins over the Trojans last season. In the two teams' last meeting, Tech outscored UALR to win 11-9 at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park on April 24, 2012.
Junior left hander Ben Carlislewill start on the mound for the Bulldogs in his first start of the season and the fourth of his career. Carlisle made an appearance this past weekend when Tech faced UT Arlington, allowing two hits, two runs, two earned runs and striking out three batters in 2.1 innings of work.
"Ben (Carlisle) did a good job this weekend in relief on Saturday, and he will get the start midweek," head coach Wade Simoneauxsaid. "We will probably throw five or six guys to give them some work and get them ready for Oral Roberts on the weekend."
The Trojans will start freshman right hander Chad Bradford Tuesday in what will mark his first career start and his first appearance of the season. UALR won two of three games from Evansville on its home field over the weekend to move to 2-1 early in 2013.

Following Tuesday afternoon's game, Tech will return to Ruston to gear up for the home opener against Oral Roberts, beginning at 6 p.m., Friday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. The Bulldogs will host the Golden Eagles in a three-game series with Games 2 and 3 scheduled for 3 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
