LA Tech vs. Nebraska Game 1 Notes

Phil Maton (3-0) earned the victory for his third win of the season after pitching seven innings of four-hit baseball and not allowing a run. The right hander has now pitched 24 consecutive scoreless innings in 2013 dating back to his first start of the season at UT Arlington. Maton has yet to allow an extra base hit in his sophomore campaign. Maton's has posted a 0.36 ERA thus far this season.
The win over Nebraska marks the first time Tech has recorded consecutive wins over the Cornhuskers since 1973. The Bulldogs won the most recent meeting 6-5 over Nebraska in Lincoln last season in the fourth and final game of the series.
Tech is now 2-0 against the Big 10 this year with the LA Tech Football team's win over Illinois in 2012 and the Bulldogs' win over Nebraska tonight.
Taylor Terrasas tied his career-high for runs batted in tonight with three on a double to left field. He previously had three RBI at Fresno State on April 15, 2010.
Taylor Burch matched his career high for hits in a game with a 3-for-3 performance on the night. Burch was 3-for-4 with an RBI at Oral Roberts on March 31, 2012.
