
![]() Bulldogs Set for Midweek Contests with UALR, Alcorn State

RUSTON, La. - After a 2-1 series win over Stephen F. Austin over the weekend, Louisiana Tech (7-14) will continue their 12-game home stand beginning with two midweek contests against the Trojans of UALR Tuesday and Alcorn State Wednesday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston. UALR (10-10) will travel to Ruston for a Tuesday night showdown at 6 p.m., while the action continues at 6 p.m. Wednesday with the Alcorn State Braves coming to town to take on the Bulldogs.

UALR will ride into Ruston having been swept this past weekend in conference action against Arkansas State at home. The Trojans have lost seven of their last eight games and will look for redemption after the Bulldogs took the first meeting this season in Little Rock. UALR will send right hander Cameron Allen to the mound Tuesday in what will mark his ninth appearance on the season and second start. Allen is 1-0 with a 4.40 earned run average in 14.1 innings pitched in 2013. The Trojans are led at the plate by Ben Crumpton who has posted a .373 batting average in 2013. The Braves of Alcorn State (4-18) have traveled to Ruston a total of five times with the Bulldogs having prevailed in four of those contests, most recently with a 5-1 victory in 2011. Alcorn State is coming off a 2-1 series win over Mississippi Valley State in Southwestern Athletic Conference play this past weekend. The Bulldogs will start left hander Ben Carlisle in Tuesday's contest in what will be the junior's fifth appearance of the season and his fourth start. Carlisle (0-2) has allowed 10 runs - six earned - off 16 hits in 14.1 innings of work and has posted a 3.68 earned run average thus far.
Freshman right hander Adam Derouen will get his first collegiate start in Wednesday's matchup against Alcorn State after having made six appearances out of the bullpen this season. Derouen (0-0) has pitched 8.2 innings for Tech in 2013, while posting a 3.12 ERA and striking out two batters. Promotions for this week's games include 80s night for Tuesday night's matchup against the Trojans. Fans in attendance will receive free sunglasses while supplies last, while the Bulldogs will be taking the field to the sounds of the 80s during the game. Tech's game versus Alcorn State will mark Faith and Family Night at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. Tuesday night's game versus the Trojans can be seen and heard on LA Tech All-Access with a live stream and play-by-play of all of the action, while Wednesday night's game will be video only. This week's games will be the final tune-ups for head coach Wade Simoneaux and his Bulldogs as Seattle will roll into town this coming weekend to begin conference play with a three-game set beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston. The series will continue at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday respectively.
