RUSTON, La. - This weekend's home baseball series between Louisiana Tech and UAB has been moved up due to impending weather in the area on Sunday, as the third game of the series on Sunday has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The second game on Saturday will begin at approximately 4 p.m. or 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.
Tonight's series opener with UAB remains scheduled for 6 p.m. at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. The second game of the Conference USA series with the Blazers was originally scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with Sunday's series finale set for 1 p.m., but inclement weather expected in the Ruston area on Sunday forced the game times to be adjusted.
The series kicks off at 6 p.m. tonight with Phil Maton set to get the start on the mound for the Bulldogs, while UAB will counter with right-hander Chase Mallard. Tonight is Free Hot Dog Friday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park as the first 100 fans in attendance will receive one free hot dog courtesy of Super 1 Foods in Ruston.
All three games this weekend will be broadcast on the LA Tech Sports Network on KNBB 97.7 FM with Dave Nitz calling all the action from the diamond. The series against UAB can also be seen and heard on LA Tech All-Access for subscribers.
