LA Tech Heads to ULM for North Louisiana Showdown
April 10, 2017
RUSTON, La. - With momentum building, Louisiana Tech will continue its eight-game road swing with a quick trip down I-20 for a North Louisiana battle with ULM on Tuesday night.
The Diamond ‘Dogs are coming off of a weekend series in Houston, which saw them take two-of-three games against a traditional college baseball power in Rice. The series victory, vaulted the Bulldogs back into the mix of things in the Conference USA standings.
ULM had a tough weekend, dropping three games to Sun Belt-foe South Alabama in Monroe. The Warhawks currently hold wins this season over Dallas Baptist, as well as Little Rock and Arkansas State, both teams Louisiana Tech has squared off against this season.
At the plate, Marshall Boggs continues to be the Bulldogs top run producer. The senior leads Conference USA with 36 RBI on the year.
At the plate, ULM is led by Cade Harper and Spencer Hemphill who are both batting over .315 on the season.
This will mark the second meeting this season between Louisiana Tech and ULM as the Bulldogs and Warhawks squared off in Ruston back on March 28. It was the Diamond ‘Dogs who came out victorious, as Louisiana Tech won 12-3, in a game that featured three consecutive home runs from Sean Ullrich, Cody Daigle and Dalton Skelton.
In that game, Ullrich and Skelton each registered three hits and combined to drive in six runs.
Cade Stone led the offensive effort for ULM, picking up a pair of hits and driving in a run as well.
First pitch on Tuesday night is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN 97.7 FM.
