Weekend Baseball Series to Feature Promotions for All Fans

RUSTON -- Not only will fans have the chance to see the Bulldogs take on the defending National Champions Fresno State this weekend, but they will also have the opportunity to attend a carnival, win prizes and receive free food during March of Dimes Weekend at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

All fans on Friday will receive a special buy one, get one free discount on their tickets. Prior to the start of the game, residential life will be holding a free carnival for students, children and families from 4 to 6 p.m. behind the outfield wall at the ballpark. The event will feature free food, games, activities, prizes and much more.

Also on Friday, the March of Dimes Foundation will be on hand passing out information and collecting donations. During the game, LA Tech staff will be raffling off a free golf lesson at Squire Creek Golf & Country Club with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

"Free Hot Dog Friday" sponsored by Super 1 Foods in Ruston returns tomorrow. Fans will have the option to pick up a free hot dog as they enter the main entrance of the stadium, while supplies last.

Before the 7th inning stretch on Friday, three fans will be chosen to participate in a hot dog eating contest. The hot dogs will be provided by Randy and Tracie Snow, owners of Tiny Tots Day Care in Ruston.

On Saturday, all kids 12 and under will receive free admission to both games and have the chance to receive a free popsicle courtesy of Super 1 Foods in Ruston, while supplies last. Members of the military will receive half-off admission with their military ID. Also, autographed baseballs by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will be raffled off throughout the day with all proceeds benefiting March of Dimes.

One free Papa John's Pizza will be given to the loudest fan in the stands and select fans will have the chance to participate in Bulldog Trivia to win a prize all weekend long.

Louisiana Tech and Fresno State will begin their four-game series Friday at 6 p.m. The two teams will then play a doubleheader Saturday with the first game beginning at 1 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader will follow approximately 45 minutes after game one concludes. Both teams will wrap up the series Sunday with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.



If precipitation is in the area Friday afternoon, the carnival will be moved to the Lambright Intramural Center.
