Baseball Takes Five-Game Win Streak to Natchitoches

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech (23-23) hits the road to face Northwestern State (17-28) in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Brown-Stroud Field.
Chris Sadberry (2-1) takes the hill for the Bulldogs as Tech looks for its sixth consecutive win after a three-game sweep over San Jose State and two wins against Hawai'i.
Offensively, Alex Williams paces the Bulldogs as his 11 home runs lead the Western Athletic Conference. Ryan Gebhardt carries a .340 batting average into Natchitoches, with 65 hits including 12 doubles. Catcher Tyler Qualls boasts a .330 batting average with 14 RBI while leadoff hitter Taylor Terrasas carries a team-high .440 on-base percentage to go with his .329 batting average and two home runs.
Jamie Gilley and Caleb Dudley highlight the bullpen for the Bulldogs as Gilley ranks 13th in the country in strikeouts per nine innings (11.05) while Dudley has recorded eight saves through 24 appearances. Weekend starters Jeb Stefan, Phil Maton and Trevor Petersen each went 7.0 innings in the three wins over the Spartans.
The Demons have 77 stolen bases as a team and are led offensively by Drew Helenihi's .320 batting average, 34 runs and 54 hits. Southpaw Jamie Bittle (1-1) gets the start for the Demons looking for his second win of the season.
Tech defeated NWLA 8-2 earlier this season as Austin Hedges, Beau Bayliss and Jacob Derouen each recorded three hits in the victory.
