2011 WAC Baseball Tournament Bracket in PDF Format

DENVER - Louisiana Tech will have the No. 3 seed and will face sixth-seeded New Mexico State in the first round of the WAC Baseball Tournament as the tournament pairings were announced by the league office late Sunday.

Louisiana Tech (32-25, 12-12 WAC) and Nevada (23-29, 12-12 WAC) tied for third but the Bulldogs won the tiebreaker over the Wolf Pack for the No. 3 seed by winning three out of the four games played between the two teams this season. New Mexico State (34-22, 9-15) was solidified as the sixth seed Friday.

Tech's action in the 2011 WAC Tournament begins Wednesday, May 25 with a 9 p.m. CT/7 p.m. PT first pitch scheduled against the Aggies at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz. This marks the second year the WAC Baseball Tournament is held at Hohokam Stadium, the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs. 

Tech has only faced New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament once before with the Aggies pulling out a 6-5 win over LA Tech in 2009 when the tournament was held in Honolulu. This will be Louisiana Tech's fifth appearance in the WAC Tournament. The league did not hold a postseason baseball tournament from 2000-2005.
