MESA, Ariz. - Louisiana Tech’s Alex Williams was named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Tournament team as announced by the WAC office late Sunday.
Williams was honored as Louisiana Tech was the only team not in the championship game to place a player on the All-Tournament team.
Williams led the Bulldogs over Tech’s five WAC Tournament games with 10 hits in 22 at-bats and was second on the team with a .455 batting average. Williams was intentionally walked twice and hit a solo home run in Tech’s first game of the WAC Tournament. Williams ended the season riding a 20-game hit streak and leaves Louisiana Tech tied for 10th in home runs (34), second in RBI (175), second in hits (253), fourth in runs scored (143), second in total bases (404) and tied for fourth in doubles (45).
The Bulldogs eliminated three teams from the WAC Tournament after losing their first game and advanced to the elimination bracket final game, one game away from the championship, before falling to the eventual WAC Champions Fresno State.
