RUSTON, La. - Head coach Greg Goff has announced dates for the Louisiana Tech Baseball Alumni Weekend, which will include a golf tournament, home run derby and alumni game leading up to LA Tech's homecoming football game versus Western Kentucky on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Goff, who is currently in his first year at the helm of the Bulldog baseball program, is inviting all former LA Tech players, coaches, managers and trainers back to J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park to visit with friends, relive old times and suit up in the red and blue on the weekend of Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
"Louisiana Tech has such a tremendous baseball history and an alumni weekend is a great way for us to showcase that as we reconnect with our former players and supporters," Goff said. "We will have events going on all weekend for the entire family and encourage all of our alumni to join us as we take a look back at the teams that have paved the way for our current student-athletes."
The weekend will begin with a golf tournament for all LA Tech baseball alumni at Squire Creek Country Club, followed by a buffet-style meal on Friday, Oct. 31. Alumni and fans will also have the opportunity to get a sneak peak of the 2014-15 Bulldogs as Goff and his team will conduct a fall intrasquad at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Ruston.
The action will pick back up with a home run derby and alumni game scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, prior to the LA Tech's homecoming contest versus WKU at Joe Aillet Stadium. All baseball alumni interested in attending the football game will be eligible to receive discounted tickets.
Goff is encouraging all former LA Tech baseball alumni and families to join the first-year staff for all weekend activities, while those in attendance will also receive a tour of the Bulldogs' brand new, state-of-the-art locker room and players' lounge, which was completed in time for the 2014 season.
