Registration Open for LA Tech Baseball Fall League

Aug. 31, 2016

RUSTON, La. - Online registration continues to be available for the upcoming 2016 Louisiana Tech Fall Baseball League, which is offered for players in grades 9-12 beginning in September.

The high school fall league kicks off Sept. 25 and will last for six Sundays through Oct. 30 at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston. Registration is limited to the first 78 players and will cost $330 per player.

“Our Fall League is a great opportunity for our staff to evaluate these young men in game situations over an extended period of time,” head coach Lane Burroughs said. “It gives them the chance to connect with our staff and also to play in front of scouts and coaches from other places.”

All fall league games will be held at the home of the Bulldogs, J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston. Participants are encouraged to register online in order to secure a spot on the roster.

“Some [players] may want to work on a secondary position that can help them in their future and this format creates that opportunity,” Burroughs continued. “We are very fortunate to have these wonderful facilities and be located in an area where so many high school players can make a trip to Ruston once a week and get top notch instruction and invaluable live game situations.”

Louisiana Tech will also host a “Hitting Under the Lights” camp, which will be held every Monday from October 31 to November 21. Registration is limited to 20 players and will cost $150 per player.

“We are very fortunate, thanks to the kindness of our donors, to have this beautiful turf field,” assistant coach Travis Creel said. “It makes camps like these a lot easier, because weather doesn’t play a factor for the most part. These camps are a great way to get kids on our campus and realize how nice of a facility we have here in Ruston.”
