Bulldog Baseball Ready for First Fall Practice on Friday

Sept. 28, 2017

RUSTON, La. – The Louisiana Tech baseball team will begin preparations for the 2018 season with the opening of the fall practice scheduled for this Friday at 3 p.m. The squad will take part in weekly practice sessions and inter-squad scrimmages throughout the fall, leading up to the Fall World Series in November.

“This should be a fun and intriguing fall,” head coach Burroughs noted. “We essentially have a new team and there will be plenty of jobs up for grabs. This will make for a very competitive fall practice period.”

Fans are welcome to J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park to see the Bulldogs in action this weekend. Practice starts on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a scrimmage at 4:30. On Saturday, fans can swing by before their tailgate festivities to watch Tech practice at 9 a.m. followed by a scrimmage at 10 a.m.

This will be the weekend schedule throughout the entirety of fall camp, and all practices and scrimmages are open to the public. Dates for the Fall World Series are expected to be announced soon.

“We would like to invite all our fans out for our practices and scrimmages,” Burroughs said. “Our fans were outstanding last season. They set new records for attendance and definitely lifted our guys up on numerous occasions. One of our goals is to make the Love Shack one of the toughest places to play in the country. Everyone has an open invitation to all our practices and scrimmages.”

Tech will open the 2018 season on the road against Pepperdine on Feb. 16. First chance to catch the ‘Dogs at home will be on Feb. 20 against McNeese State at 6 p.m.
