Registration Underway for Top Dawg Holiday Camps
RUSTON, La. – With the holiday season fast approaching, Louisiana Tech head baseball coach Wade Simoneaux announced the dates and times for the upcoming Top Dawg Baseball Holiday Camps to be held on the Louisiana Tech campus in November and December.
“Top Dawg Campers have been a hotbed for future Tech players,” Simoneaux said. “Three high school campers this past summer were offered scholarships to Tech. One camper and past Tech player, Brian Rike, was drafted in the second round of the MLB draft after being voted MVP in the Western Athletic Conference.”
Two camps will be held for youth in first through seventh grades. The first camp will take place November 19-21, and the second is set for December 26 and 27. The cost to attend each camp is $150, or a player can attend both for $250. Registration is at 8 a.m. the first day of each camp. For the November camp, workouts will begin each day at 9 a.m. and last until noon. The December camp will feature a morning and afternoon session on Dec. 26 and a morning session on Dec. 27.
The Future Stars Prospect Camp will take place Dec. 27-29 for players in grades 8-12. For local players, the cost is $250 and includes two meals. The cost is $350 for overnight campers, which includes five meals and two nights at the Howard Johnson in Ruston. Registration is at 3 p.m. on Dec. 27.
All participants should bring a hat, cleats, practice pants or running suit, bat, glove, long sleeves or a jacket, and catchers should bring their own gear as well.
