RUSTON, La. - Head coach Wade Simoneaux and the Louisiana Tech baseball program is gearing up for the annual Top Dawg Holiday Camps for both youth and high school players wanting to participate in the winter baseball camp.
The youth camp is open to all first through seventh graders, and campers will learn the fundamentals of pitching, catching, infield, outfield and hitting under the direction of Simoneaux and his team.
The first session of camp will begin on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 4-7 p.m. because of school still being in session. The second day of camp will run from 1-4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, with the final session running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22.
The high school camp is open to all eighth through 12th graders, and campers will experience the same drills the Bulldogs perform, learn defensive position work, play intrasquad scrimmages, execute hitting drills and work on strength and conditioning.
The camp will begin the following weekend on Thursday, Dec. 27-28 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and conclude Saturday, Dec. 29 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
