Louisiana Tech at UT Arlington Jan. 5, 2013 Game Notes With the 55-52 win, Louisiana Tech now leads the all-time series over UT Arlington 23-8. Bulldogs move to 12-3 on the season after their fourth straight win. Mavericks drop their third straight game to fall to 6-6. Bulldogs move to 3-0 to start WAC play for only the third time since joining the conference in 2001. LA Tech starters were Michale Kyser, Brandon Gibson, Raheem Appleby, Kenneth Smith and Cordarius Johnson. Twenty-three points in the first half for LA Tech was the fewest scored all season in that period. Bulldog defense forced 23 turnovers and had 14 steals. Guard Alex Hamilton led the Bulldogs in scoring with 14 points, the second straight game he has led the team in scoring coming off the bench. Forward Michale Kyser had three blocks bringing his season total to 46. He needs only 10 more to break the single-season blocks record for a sophomore. Guard Kenneth Smith dished five assists on the night. It is the 10th time this season he has registered at least five in a game. The Bulldogs were down by seven with 2:35 left to play, but used a 10-0 run to finish the game. The Bulldogs only had the lead for 2 minutes and 48 seconds the entire game.
Forty of the Bulldogs 55 total points came from the bench.
