Louisiana Tech at UTSA Jan. 12, 2013 Game Notes
With the 73-71, Louisiana Tech now leads the all-time series over UTSA 5-1.
LA Tech improves to 14-3 on the season and 5-0 in the WAC (six-game winning streak). UTSA falls to 4-12 on the season and 0-6 in the WAC (six-game losing streak).
The win marks the first time since the 1991-92 season that the Bulldogs have had multiple winning streaks of at least six games in a season. LA Tech had a seven-game winning streak from Nov. 14-30.
The victory marks the first time since the 2001-02 season that the Bulldogs have won three-straight road conference games.
It's on the second time since LA Tech joined the WAC that they opened conference play 5-0.
Forward Michale Kyser had four blocks on the night giving him 56 for the season, breaking the sophomore single-season record previous held by Willie Simmons (1982-83) and Paul Millsap (2004-05) who each had 55 their sophomore year.
Guard Kenyon McNeail moved up to seventh place all-time for career three-pointers made after making nine. He now has 114 for his career.
McNeail tied the program record for most three-point field goals made in a game with nine. Johnny Miller made nine on Feb. 15, 1997 at Western Kentucky.
Forward Chris Anderson scored a career-high 10 points off the bench.
The Bulldog bench accounted for 54 of the team's 73 total points.
