Louisiana Tech vs. Idaho Jan. 17, 2013 Game Notes With the 72-66 win, LA Tech now leads the all-times series over Idaho 11-5. The victory is the seventh straight for the Bulldogs and improves their record to 15-3 on the season. Idaho drops their fourth straight and falls to 6-10. With a win, the Bulldogs have their first ever 6-0 WAC start since joining the league in 2001. With a win, the Bulldogs now have their second seven-game winning streak this season. It is the first time since 1987-88 that La Tech has had multiple winning streaks of seven games. LA Tech starters were Michale Kyser, Brandon Gibson, Kenneth Smith, Cordarius Johnson and Kenyon McNeail. McNeail made his first start of the season. Guard Kenneth Smith had a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers. He also made a career-high five three-pointers. After recording eight assists, Kenneth Smith needs only two more to crack into the top 10 for all-time career assists. Forward Michale Kyser registered four blocks giving him 120 for his career. He needs only four more to move into fourth place all-time for career blocks. Guard Raheem Appleby tallied 20 points off the bench, the most he has scored since dropping 34 at Georgia State (11/30/12). The Bulldog attempted 33 three-pointers, the most since they had 30 attempts versus Nevada (1/28/12). After leading by two points with 5:00 left in the game, the Bulldogs are now 13-0 when ahead at that time. The Bulldog defense forced 23 turnovers and scored 33 points off of the turnovers. It marked the seventh game this season they have forced at least 20 by their opponent. The Bulldog bench scored over 30 points (31) for the 10th time this season.
