Louisiana Tech vs. Troy Nov. 18, 2012 Post-Game Quotes

HEAD COACH Michael White

Opening Statement:

It was a really good defensive effort. I thought we really defended the glass, as good as we have all year. Our energy level on that end was tremendous. We executed pretty well offensively and we finally made some jump shots.

On defending the three:

I thought our sense of urgency and our awareness was really good along those lines. They hit a couple late. They had a kid come off the bench that hit three against us. But overall, 5-of-20, I thought we really took care of the biggest key to the game for us defensively and that was defending that three-point line.

On Cordarius Johnson:

He's found a little bit of a comfort level, and he has earned his way into more and more minutes. He is earned the trust of his teammates and this staff to stay on the floor a little bit longer and to get the benefit of the doubt because he's doing little things. He is defending. He is rebounding. He has come a long way in those areas. I am happy for him that his stroke has come along a little bit because that is what he has done during practice.

On their next opponent Southeast Missouri:

They were really impressive. They were picked high on the Ohio Valley Conference. Their four and their five are really talented, especially offensively. A Missouri transfer and the Nino kid out of Memphis who I am really familiar with having recruited the area at Ole Miss. Those two guys, with the ball in their hands, are very dangerous. They can make a lot of plays with their back to the basket and facing the basket on the offensive end. We have ends full defensively and we will try to throw some different looks at them.
