Opening Statement:

"I thought our guys came out with some good energy and caused a lot of turnovers early to get us into a good rhythm. We got into a lull late in the first half and they scored on eight-of-nine possessions, so I was not pleased with that. In the second half we really settled in and guarded. That is really what we have been trying to work on, even with our smaller lineup. We want to make people miss and chase the ball down. I thought we did that better in the second half."

On crowd:

"The people here are just phenomenal, with their energy level and all of the young people that come to the games. There is a lot of excitement and great support. We feel it as a staff. I know our players do, as well. We want to play well for them. I am excited about these upcoming home games and hopefully we can give them a great show."

On first half success:

"I feel like we have been dipping our toes in the water in the first half, to try and get a feel. Guys are trying to get acclimated to the way the game is being played and the way it is being called. That is something we worked on in practice. We want to get off to a really good start and come out with some fire. We want to be the aggressors."

On overcoming injuries:

"We have been flexible all year and we have had seven different starting lineups. We have played so many different lineups. We are asking guys to play out of position. We have changed their job responsibility basically. It requires great pride, energy and belief that we can get it done. We have to keep finding a way to get cohesive. Some of that comes with health. With this group right now, we just have to find a way to make it work as best we can."

On LSU-Shreveport:

"We prepare for every game the same. They have had three straight 20-win seasons. They were ranked 14th coming into this year. We tinkered with things, because we had to when Qiydar [Davis] went down. We had to change our starting lineup. We had to change our rotation. It is good that we have that type of experience, because we have some tough ball games coming up."

On Holden:

"He sees a doctor in the next 10 days to evaluate where he is at. We are hoping to hear some good news."

On depth in front court:

"With Merrill, [Qiydar] and Joniah out right now, the only tall guys we have are Erik, Jy'lan and Branden. We are going to continue to work those guys and look at different lineups. We are going to use our size to our strength. It is a chess match. We just have to try and build some continuity."

On turnovers forced:

"LSU-Shreveport was averaging about 19 turnovers a game coming in. We forced a good number in the first half. We took the pressure off in the final 10 minutes and tried to guard in the half court. I thought we had some good activity and our pursuit angles were better than they have been. It was good to see it happen tonight."
