Louisiana Tech vs. Southern Miss Dec. 8, 2012 Game Notes With the 65-55 win by Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss now leads the all-times series 41-29. LA Tech is now on a 30-game non-conference winning streak inside the Thomas Assembly Center. LA Tech starters were Michale Kyser, Brandon Gibson, Raheem Appleby, Brandon Gibson and Cordarius Johnson. This starting lineup has been the same in all 10 games this season. LA Tech bench combined to score 32 of the team's 65 total points. Bulldog defense forced seven turnovers in the first four minutes of play, and 23 turnovers for the entire game. Southern Miss scored their first field goal at the 13:37 mark of the first half. J.L. Lewis had a season-high eight points and four rebounds. Kenyon McNeail had a season-high 18 points to lead the Bulldogs in scoring. Kenneth Smith recorded seven steals, a new career-high. It also tied the LA Tech record with Wayne Smith, Willie Bland and Mike McConathy for most steals in a single game. The 23 points allowed in the first half to the Golden Eagles was the fewest scored by USM this season. The Bulldogs led 24-23 at halftime, making them 7-0 this season when leading at the break.
