NORFOLK, Va. - Following a thrilling victory on the road at Charlotte on Thursday night, Louisiana Tech is gearing up for another challenging road contest on the Atlantic coast.

LA Tech (11-6, 3-1 C-USA) will battle Old Dominion (11-6, 4-1 C-USA) on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. CT at Ted Constant Convention Center, with the game set to be televised on the American Sports Network and streamed for free on CUSA.TV.

The Bulldogs are coming off one of their more impressive wins of the season, holding off a furious second-half rally from a sharp-shooting Charlotte team, leaving the 49ers arena with a 79-73 victory.

Old Dominion enters the match having won their last two conference games, including a narrow four-point victory over Southern Miss at home on Thursday night, 54-50. The Monarchs lone loss in conference play came on the road at Marshall in overtime, 90-86.

Early in the year in the Battle 4 Atlantis, Old Dominion nearly pulled off the marquee upset of November, taking a then top-10 ranked Louisville to overtime, before falling 68-62.

Saturday nights matchup will have an opposite feel from Thursday night's game in Charlotte as unlike the 49ers, the Monarchs will look to slow things down. Old Dominion currently ranks fourth in the NCAA and first in Conference USA, by holding opponents to a mere 58.6-point average.

On the defensive end, Louisiana Tech will need to key on boxing out as the Monarchs also rank top-ten in the nation and first in C-USA in offensive rebounding. Denzell Taylor ranks eighth in the NCAA averaging over four offensive rebounds a game by himself.

Louisiana Tech won't enter intimidated though, as the Bulldogs rank second in Conference USA in scoring defense, giving up just under 64 points per game and first in the conference in defensive rebounding.

On the offensive end of the court, Old Dominion has three players averaging double-figures, led by Ahmad Caver who is averaging 12.6 points per game. Zoran Talley averages 11.3 points per game, followed by Brandon Stith who is scoring 10.5 and pulling down 8.2 rebounds per game.

The Monarchs may be without the services of Stith, who has not played since spraining his ankle late in the first half on Jan. 5 at Marshall.

Louisiana Tech will throw a balanced attack at Old Dominion, both with outside shooting and a physical inside game. A reputation for having some of the best shooters in Conference USA, the Bulldogs took down Charlotte on Thursday night attempting just nine three-pointers in the match. Louisiana Tech outscored Charlotte 48-22 in the paint.

From the outside Jacobi Boykins, whose 360-degree dunk at Charlotte landed him the number two spot on SportCenter's Top 10 Plays, is averaging over 15 points per game and possess the ability to light it up from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Florida native has 17 steals in his past five outings.

Guards Derric Jean and DaQuan "DayDay" Bracey, who both scored in double-figures on Saturday night, are both hovering around a ten point per game average.

Erik McCree continues to be the Bulldogs leading scorer, averaging over 17 points per game to go along with nearly nine boards a game.

LA Tech also welcomed back Oliver Powell on Thursday, as the freshman saw his first action in a Conference USA game after missing time due to an injury. Powell wasted no time making his presence felt, pulling down a team-high seven rebounds.

Fans looking to watch Saturday's game will need to check their local listing for the American Sports Network, or go to CUSA.TV for a free stream of the game.

The game can be heard live on the LA Tech Sports Network on KXKZ 107.5 (Ruston) and KJVC 92.7 FM (Mansfield) as well as on the LA Tech X Mobile App. The "Voice of the Bulldogs" Dave Nitz will call the play-by-play.
