RUSTON - Louisiana Tech guard Kenyon McNeail was announced today as the Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performances in leading the Bulldogs to two road victories last week.

The Conway, Ark. native came off the bench to score six points with four rebounds in an 84-67 road win at Texas State, but it was his record-setting performance against UTSA that garnered the most praise.

With the Bulldogs down 8-0 to the Roadrunners early in the game, McNeail came off the bench and made four consecutive three-pointers to give LA Tech their first lead.

Up by three late in the contest, UTSA hit back-to-back three-pointers to regain the lead, 71-68, with 1:26 still to go.

After two made free throws by McNeail, the Bulldog defense forced a UTSA turnover and gave way to the hot-shooter who drained his ninth three-pointer with 19 seconds remaining to give LA Tech the lead and the 73-71 victory.

McNeail ended up pouring in a career-high 34 points, including 9-of-15 from beyond the arc, tying the all-time Bulldog record for most made three's in a game and breaking the all-time record for most attempted.

His nine three-pointers is the top mark in the WAC this season and the third-best single-game performance in the nation.

On the week, the junior averaged 20.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 52 percent from the field (13-25) and the three-point line (11-21).

The Bulldogs return to the Thomas Assembly Center to go for their seventh straight win on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. against Idaho in a nationally televised contest dubbed as the "White Out" game.
