RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech (7-10; 1-3 WAC) will play host to the Idaho Vandals (8-9; 2-2 WAC) Saturday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center in Western Athletic Conference action.
The Bulldogs lost a pair of home games last week; first to Utah State and then on a last-second buzzer-beating three-pointer by Nevada.
"We were obviously disappointed about the losses last week," Tech head coach Kerry Rupp said. "We just have to find a way to do the right things on a more consistent basis. We have to put ourselves in positions to be successful and win games, and find a way to not fall short."
Idaho lost Thursday night to New Mexico State 74-71 in Las Cruces, N.M., after splitting with Hawaii and Utah State the weekend before.
"Idaho is going to be a very tough matchup," Rupp said. "They have a very good coaching staff, and their players are doing an excellent job of playing together. They understand the style they need to play. We're going move forward as a team and keep finding the areas we need to improve. I'm seeing a lot of good things, but we just need to finds ways at the end of the day to do them more consistently."
Since the Vandals joined the Western Athletic Conference in the 2005-06 season, the Bulldogs have held a 5-1 series lead over Idaho. Last season, Tech and Idaho split wins with both teams winning at home.
Junior Kyle Gibson leads the Bulldogs at 15.1 points per game, while Mac Hopson lead the Vandals at 15.8 ppg.
The game will be broadcast live on KXKZ 107.5 FM locally with a live audio feed also available at www.z1075fm.com.
