Bulldogs Return to Action Against New Mexico State
Jan. 18, 2008
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (3-12; 0-3 WAC) will play their third road game in a row Saturday, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. in the Pan American Center to take on the New Mexico State Aggies (9-10; 3-1 WAC) in Western Athletic Conference action.
Tech lost both games last weekend against Idaho and then against Boise State. New Mexico State lost its last game against Utah State last week.
The Bulldogs and the Aggies have met seven times dating back to the 1977-78 season when NMSU beat the Bulldogs in Las Cruces, N.M., by a final score of 69-51. New Mexico State leads that all-time series record with Tech 5-2.
Last season, Bulldog fans were treated to a 33-point performance from 2007 senior Trey McDowell as Tech upset a hot Aggies team in overtime by a final score of 73-71. The Aggies, however, have won two straight over the Bulldogs including a 77-70 win in the 2007 WAC Tournament.
Sophomore Kyle Gibson leads Bulldog scorers at 14.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
The Aggies are led by Justin Hawkins at 16.0 points per game.
