RUSTON -- The Louisiana Tech men's basketball team received two points in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday.

The Bulldogs have won eight straight to increase their overall record to 16-3 and sit atop the WAC standings with a perfect 7-0 record.

LA Tech is one of only 17 schools in NCAA Division I with at least 16 wins on the season.

It marks the first time the Bulldogs have received points since the 2009-10 season after they started the season 15-2.

LA Tech hasn't been ranked in the AP Top 25 since the final poll of the 1985 season. That squad, led by the legendary Karl Malone, played in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and finished the season ranked eighth.

Next up for the conference leaders is a trip to the west coast as the `Dogs play at San Jose State (9-9, 3-4 WAC) on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 9 p.m. CT.
