Bulldogs Travel to San Jose for Conference Play
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (12-7; 5-1 WAC) are on the road for the weekend as they continue their quest to win the 2006 Western Athletic Conference championship.
Their first stop will be against the San Jose State Spartans (5-12; 1-3 WAC) in The Event Center Thursday night at 9 p.m.
The Bulldogs come into the game in sole possession of first place in the conference with only one loss and will try to extend their winning streak to two straight games after opening 4-0 in conference play. Tech also holds an 11.7 rebounding edge over conference opponents this season with the nearest mark at 2.8.
The Spartans are looking to pick up their second WAC win of the season and improve their current conference standings from eighth place.
Tech will look to junior forward Paul Millsap, who is averaging 20.8 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. Millsap is looking to garner three straight NCAA rebounding championships, a feat never before accomplished.
San Jose State will look to Demetrius Brown and Alex Elam, who are averaging 14.3 and 12.8 points per game, respectively.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 7-2 with the losses coming in the past two years where both teams won their home games.
