RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech is back home Thursday night within the friendly confines of the Thomas Assembly Center to take on the Hawaii Warriors at 7 p.m. in televised Western Athletic Conference action.
"It's always nice to be back home," Tech head coach Kerry Rupp said. "In our conference, whether home or away, every opponent is still very, very good. The coaches do an excellent job of preparing their teams, and Hawaii is going to be a tough matchup. It will be nice to be back in front of our fans."
The Bulldogs (8-12; 2-5 WAC) lost a pair of road games this past weekend against Fresno State and Boise State. Junior Magnum Rolle had a career-day shooting 11-of-11 for 23 points and 10 rebounds in the 58-53 loss to the Broncos.
Tech and Hawaii (9-10; 1-6 WAC) met up already once this season in Honolulu. After rallying from a double-digit first half lead, Tech ended up losing by one point 65-64 in the final seconds. Hawaii, however, has not won a game since and is on a six-game losing streak.
The Bulldogs have a 10-6 all-time series lead dating back to the 1983-84 season. The Warriors have won two of the past three games, with the home team winning both games in the 2007-08 season.
Junior Kyle Gibson leads the Bulldogs with 14.5 points per game, while Roderick Flemmings leads the Warriors at 17.0 ppg.
The game will be televised live on Cox Sports TV local channel 26 and on ESPN Plus. KXKZ 107.5 FM will be broadcasting the game on the radio with a live audio feed available at www.z1075fm.com. The pregame show will begin around 30 minutes prior to tip off.
