Jan. 29, 2013
RUSTON - After coming away with impressive road wins this past week over San Jose State and Utah State, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs garnered points for the second consecutive week in the recent national polls.
LA Tech is one of only 10 teams in NCAA Division I with at least 18 wins currently and their 10-game winning streak is tied with Memphis and Montana for the third longest in the country.
After receiving two points in last week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Bulldogs picked up six more to increase their total to eight which puts them at 33rd.
The Bulldogs also received one point for the first time this season in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 poll.
The USA Today Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll is compiled from votes by 65 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the country.
Additionally, LA Tech made a huge leap from No. 21 to No. 11 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
The Bulldogs concluded the first half of conference play with a perfect 9-0 record after defeating the Aggies for the first time in Logan, Utah in eight tries.
LA Tech returns to action this Saturday in the Thomas Assembly Center at 7:00 p.m. versus UT Arlington.
