HONOLULU, Hawaii -- The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (3-15; 0-6 WAC) will play the Warriors of the University of Hawaii (9-11; 5-3 WAC) Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11:05 p.m. CST in the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Bulldogs played a couple of close games last week to two of the top teams in the conference in Utah State and Nevada; both games in Ruston. Sophomore Kyle Gibson led all scorers for both games including the conference's leading scorer in senior Jaycee Carroll for Utah State.
Tech has an impressive 9-4 all-time series lead over Hawaii dating back to the 1983-84 season when the Bulldogs beat the Warriors on the road. Since joining the Western Athletic Conference in the 2001-02 season, Tech has won eight of the last 12 meetings and had a streak of six games in a row before Hawaii broke the curse at home last season.
Hawaii is coming off a big win against New Mexico State 94-71 Thursday night at home.
Gibson leads all Tech scorers at 15.5 points per game, while Matt Gibson leads Hawaii at 16.5 points per game.
Tip off is set for 11:05 p.m. and will be heard live on KXKZ 107.5 FM locally and will be broadcast live via the internet at www.z1075fm.com.
