Hamilton Lifts Bulldogs over Blue Raiders, 75-68
Kenneth Smith and Michale Kyser have done their fair share of record breaking this season, but on Saturday evening in front of 6,214 fans in the Thomas Assembly Center it was Alex Hamilton doing the breaking.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Coming off its worth loss of the 2014-15 season, Louisiana Tech will look to rebound on Saturday night at 7 p.m. when they play at Middle Tennessee in the Murphy Center.

The game will be televised live on the American Sports Network with Dave Barnett and Ben Braun calling the action.

LA Tech (17-6, 8-2 C-USA) will need to rebound, literally and figuratively, after coming off a 20-point defeat which tied for the second worse lost in the Michael White era.

The Bulldogs were heavily outrebounded, 49-34, by the Blazers on Thursday. Despite the lopsided stat, they still pulled to within two, 54-52, with 13 minutes left in the game, but that was as close as the `Dogs would get.

UAB exploded for a 19-4 run. Meanwhile, LA Tech made just eight total points for the final 13 minutes.

The loss put the Bulldogs in a tie for second place in the C-USA standings, one game back of first place. In order to keep pace with hopes of securing a third straight regular season conference title, Saturday will be a pivotal game.

The `Dogs will need to put together another performance much like they did the first time they placed Middle Tennessee (13-10, 6-4 C-USA).

After MT grabbed a 42-40 lead with 17:01 left to play three weeks ago in Ruston, the Bulldogs went on a 17-2 run over the next eight minutes of action and eventually became the first team to score at least 70 points against the Blue Raiders.

Much like the Thomas Assembly Center though, the Murphy Center is an extremely difficult place for opposing teams to walk out of with a victory. It is a place where Middle Tennessee is 55-6 in the past four seasons.

The Blue Raiders enter Saturday's contest in sixth place in the C-USA standings. They get their offensive production collectively as 10 different players have led the team in scoring in a single game at some point this season.

They are led by Reggie Upshaw who averages 9.7 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game. On defense, they are second in the league in scoring defense (61.4).

Fans are reminded that tickets for the 2015 Conference USA basketball tournament which will be hosted by UAB in Birmingham (March 11-14) are on sale for $180 which includes tickets to every game (both men's and women's sessions).
