Bulldogs Climb in Latest National Polls

RUSTON - After improving their overall record to 21-3 with last week's conference sweep against UTSA (74-49) and Texas State (84-69), Louisiana Tech climbed in both national polls released on Monday.

For the fourth straight week, LA Tech has garnered points in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and in each week has steadily increased their point total.

The Bulldogs, riding the fourth longest winning streak in NCAA Division I at 13 games, gained 19 more points to bump their total to 43 which puts them at No. 32, up one spot from the previous week.

LA Tech also added 12 more points in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 poll to increase their point total to 18 which ascended them from No. 37 to No. 33 in the country.

The USA Today Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

The AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll is compiled from votes by 65 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation.

WAC play will continue for the Bulldogs this week as they will take their perfect 12-0 conference record to Seattle, Wash. to take on the Redhawks of Settle U at 9:00 p.m. CT at the KeyArena.
