Inside Tech Basketball Returns Monday Night

Feb. 15, 2016

RUSTON – The Bank of Ruston Inside Tech Basketball radio show returns on Monday night at 6 p.m. at Scott’s Catfish on Hwy 33 in Ruston.

Louisiana Tech basketball head coaches Eric Konkol and Tyler Summitt will recap last week’s Conference USA action while also previewing upcoming games this week.

The Bulldogs knocked off the top two teams in the league – Middle Tennessee and UAB – to remain in fourth place in the league standings.

Redshirt junior Erik McCree registered his seventh double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 boards against the Blue Raiders. He followed that up with a career performance against the Blazers, scoring 33 points with 23 of those coming in the second half when the ‘Dogs stormed back for the win.

Meanwhile, the two victories helped senior Alex Hamilton become the all-time winningest Bulldog in program history with 102 wins.

The Lady Techsters suffered two road losses this past week to Middle Tennessee and UAB. Despite the losses, the team remained in fourth place in the conference standings with six games left in the regular season.

Senior Brandi Wingate registered double-figure scoring in both games, including her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and a career-tying 12 rebounds against the Blue Raiders.

The one-hour radio show will air live on the LA Tech Sports Network on ESPN 97.7 FM. The show will feature a half hour segment with Summitt and the Voice of the Lady Techsters Malcolm Butler and a half hour segment with Konkol and the Voice of the Bulldogs Dave Nitz.

LA Tech fans are encouraged to come out to Scott’s Catfish and enjoy some great food and interact with the coaches. The radio show can also be heard via the Internet by purchasing a subscription to LA Tech All-Access on LATechSports.com.
