RUSTON - Another long road trip out west equated to two more conference wins for Louisiana Tech, moving the Bulldogs up in both national polls released on Monday.

LA Tech improved their overall record to 23-3 with tough victories over Seattle (64-58) and Idaho (67-61) to extend their winning streak to a program record-tying 15 straight which also ranks nationally as the third longest active winning streak.

For the fifth straight week, the Bulldogs have garnered points in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and in each week have steadily increased their point total.

This week, the Bulldogs gained five more points to bump their total to 48 which pushes them up four spots from No. 32 to No. 28.

Despite a drop in their point total from 18 to 12 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 poll, LA Tech moved up one ranking from No. 33 to No. 32.

A contributing factor to the team's rise in rankings may not be just the number of wins they have tallied, but where the wins have come from.

Fifteen of LA Tech's 26 games thus far this season have been away from Ruston, La. Of those 15 games, the Bulldogs are an impressive 12-3 which is tied for the most road wins (including neutral sites) in the country.

The AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll is compiled from votes by 65 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation.

The USA Today Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Up next for the Bulldogs is a non-conference home matchup with the Central Baptist Mustangs. Tipoff time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Thomas Assembly Center.
