RENO, Nev. -- Louisiana Tech will remain on the road Saturday, Mar. 1, to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack (18-10; 10-3 WAC) in the Lawlor Events Center at 8 p.m. CST on Cox Sports TV channel 26.
Tech is coming off a loss to Utah State Thursday night in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum by a final score of 86-59 after trailing by only four points early in the second half. Sophomore Kyle Gibson led Tech scorers with 17 points, while freshman Brandon Mims had a career night with eight points and eight rebounds.
The Bulldogs and the Wolf Pack met once this season in the Thomas Assembly Center where Nevada beat Tech 83-70. Gibson led all scorers with 18 points.
Tech and Nevada have met 14 times in the programs' histories dating back to the Bulldogs joining the Western Athletic Conference in the 2001-02 season. The Wolf Pack leads the all-time series 11-3 and has won ten in a row.
Nevada beat New Mexico State Thursday night in Reno by a final score of 98, thanks to a 29-point effort from Brandon Fields.
Gibson is the leading scorer for the Bulldogs with 16.0 points, while senior Marcellus Kemp leads the Wolf Pack at 20.4 points per game.
Tip off is set for 8 p.m. central standard time and can be seen on Cox Sports TV channel 26 in Ruston. The game will also be broadcast on KXKZ 107.5 FM and streamed live via the internet at www.z1075fm.com.
