DENVER - Louisiana Tech senior Trevor Gaskins and freshman Raheem Appleby garnered honors from the Western Athletic Conference as the postseason awards were announced Monday.

Appleby was selected as the conference's Freshman of the Year, the first Bulldog since Paul Millsap in 2004 to earn the award. Appleby was also named to the second team all-WAC and all-Newcomer teams.

For the season, Appleby averaged 13.8 points per game on 46.0 percent shooting including 38.3 percent from three-point range. He also scored a season-high 30 points at New Mexico State on Feb. 4.
