Bulldogs Fall Out of AP Top 25
March 4, 2013
RUSTON - Despite registering two 20-plus point victories this past week over conference foes Utah State and San Jose State, Louisiana Tech fell out of the AP Top 25 poll after being ranked for the first time since 1985.
LA Tech almost doubled their point total from 54 points to 103 after extending their winning streak to a nation's best 18 games, but dropped back from No. 25 to No. 27 as Virginia Commonwealth and UCLA jumped ahead into the Top 25 rankings.
The Bulldogs also increased their point total from 24 to 41 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 poll, moving them up one spot from last week to No. 28.
The AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll is compiled from votes by 65 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation.
The USA Today Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
LA Tech returns to action on Thursday, March 7 at 8 p.m. CT as the Bulldogs travel to take on New Mexico State at the Pan American Center.
