LA Tech to Take Part in Inaugural Vegas 16 Tournament

RUSTON -- There will be more basketball for Louisiana Tech as the Bulldogs will take part in the inaugural Vegas 16 postseason tournament which is slated for March 28-30 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
It is an eight-team, single-elimination, three-day event with the entire tournament being broadcast live on the CBS Sports Network. LA Tech (23-9) is scheduled to face East Tennessee State (23-11) at 10:30 p.m. CT in the quarterfinals on the 28th.
The field also consists of fellow Conference USA foe Old Dominion as well as Tennessee Tech, Northern Illinois, UCSB, Oakland and Towson. The average number of wins (20.9) and RPI (123) by the field is the strongest outside of the NCAA and NIT Tournaments.
This will mark the fourth straight season the Bulldogs will play in a postseason tournament. The past three seasons, the team has played in the National Invitation Tournament making it as far as the quarterfinals in 2014 and 2015.
Tournament tickets are priced from $15 per session for the tournament. All sessions include two games except for the championship game. Tickets can be purchased at the Mandalay Bay box office, MandalayBay.com, AXS.com, Vegas16.com or by calling 888-AXS-TIX.
