
![]() Tech Ranks Eighth in the Nation in Average Football-Basketball Winning Percentage

RUSTON, La. - After a pair of remarkable seasons recorded by the school’s football and men’s basketball teams, Louisiana Tech enters the weekend currently ranked eighth in the nation in combined football/men’s basketball record. Entering men’s basketball postseason play this week, Tech had a 9-3 football record and a 26-6 men’s basketball record for a .781 winning percentage average, a mark that ranks eighth in the nation and the best mark among all non-AQ schools on the FBS level. Tech’s .781 mark is better than the next-best non-AQ school which is Boise State, ranking ninth with a winning percentage average of .762. That mark ties with Utah State, who also has a .762 winning percentage average. That mark posted by the two Louisiana Tech teams also ranked first in the state of Louisiana with LSU following at 22nd nationally with a winning percentage average of .691. Ohio State ranked first in the nation with a mark of .894 while Sugar Bowl champion Louisville ranks second with a winning mark of .850.
