Gibson and Rolle Named All-LSWA

BATON ROUGE -- Louisiana Tech juniors Kyle Gibson and Magnum Rolle were named to the All-Louisiana first and third teams, respectively, by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association released Saturday night.


Gibson averaged 16.1 points per game this past season while leading Tech to a nine-win turnaround from last season. For his efforts, Gibson was named second-team All-WAC at the end of the season.


Rolle not only averaged 12.2 points per game this past year, he was also a defensive force averaging 7.2 rebounds and totaling 52 blocks on the year. He earned both All-WAC Newcomer and Defensive honors.


LSU’s Marcus Thornton was voted Player of the Year while Trent Johnson was named Coach of the Year. Fred Hunter of Nicholls earned Freshman of the Year honors, while both Mike Pilgrim (LSUS) and Malcolm Thomas (ULM) were named Newcomer of the Year.
