NASSAU, Bahamas - Louisiana Tech completed the Summer of Thunder Classic sweep on Thursday night with a 100-94 overtime victory against the PJ Stringers inside Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
The foreign tour and the 10 allowed practices leading up to it proved to be a huge success with the addition of nine newcomers to the LA Tech squad.
One other player it benefited was senior Raheem Appleby. After missing seven weeks last season with an ankle injury and never quite getting back to 100 percent, he now seems to be at full strength after being the team's leading scorer for a second straight night with his 18 points, including four three-pointers.
Kenneth Smith was the one doing the dishing as he customarily does, recording 12 on the night which put his assist total at 35 for the three exhibition games combined.
LA Tech held a semi-comfortable lead of 52-37 at halftime, but the PJ Stringers closed the gap to four by the end of the third quarter.
All players suited up saw at least one total quarter of action.
The `Dogs will now get some much deserved time off in the next couple of weeks before getting back on the hardwood to gear up for the 2014-15 season.
