LA Tech Back on the Road at UALR on Friday

After a 3-0 weekend, the Louisiana Tech men's basketball team is back on the road at UALR on Friday at 2 p.m.

The Bulldogs (5-1) won three games in three straight days last weekend in Irvine, Calif. in the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. Tech recorded wins over Seattle, Navy and UC-Irvine. Adding the win over Houston on Wednesday and the Bulldogs won four games in a span of five days.

Senior guard DeAndre Brown is the reigning Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after being named tournament MVP of the Irvine Subregional. Brown averaged 17.3 points on the week and scored 26 in the win over UC-Irvine on Sunday.

Brown is averaging 16 points this season followed by junior forward Olu Ashaolu with 15.2 points and sophomore guard Brandon Gibson with 11.2 points. Freshman guard Kenyon McNeaill has had quite an impact early in his career as he is averaging 9.5 points. The Conway, Arkansas native is shooting a team-best 43.5 percent from three-point range.

UALR (3-2) is coming off an 86-60 loss at Oral Roberts on Wednesday. Brandon Solomon scored 20 points in the loss and leads the Trojans in scoring with an average of 13.6 points. UALR is 2-0 at home with wins over St. Gregory's and Illinois State.

Louisiana Tech and UALR hook up for the 36th time with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 24-12 after last season's 86-66 win at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Tech spent 10 years in the Sun Belt Conference and has a 257-183 record against current members of the conference. Last season, Tech went 2-0 against SBC teams with wins over UALR and ULM.
