Bulldogs to Host McNeese State
Louisiana Tech will host McNeese State University in the Thomas Assembly Center tomorrow at 3 p.m. in hopes to win its third home game of the season.
The Bulldogs (5-4) defeated UL-Lafayette 85-78 last Tuesday night after making 14 of 26 three-pointers for the second most treys made in a single game in Tech history.
Tech improved its three-point percentage from .296 to .343 percent in that one game, and now the Bulldogs hope to continue that hot shooting against the Cowboys (2-2).
Tech junior forward Paul Millsap will lead the Bulldogs offensively, as he has posted eight double-doubles in nine games so far this season. Millsap had 24 points and 19 rebounds against UL-Lafayette, which was one rebound of the TAC record he set against Nevada his freshman year.
Millsap's last double-double was the 49th of his career, sending him past Randy White on Tech's all-time career list. Mike Green has the Tech record with 81.
Senior guard Corey Dean remains second on the team in scoring with 8.7 points per game, and senior point guard Daevon Haskins is now second in the Western Athletic Conference in assists per game at 5.6 Haskins is first in the conference in assist to turnover ratio at 2.6.
Senior forward Michael Wilds and junior guard Marcus Elliott showed their long-range potential against the Ragin' Cajuns, as the two combined to make nine out of 11 shots from three-point land.
