Today marks the final day of two-a-days! That can only mean one thing - we are getting even closer to the start of the 2014 season. The team is fighting through a flu bug going around while the offense is fighting through the pressure of needing to continue to improve.

  Monday, August 18

Louisiana Tech was back on the practice fields after a pair of fan days in Shreveport and Ruston, respectively, and a scrimmage late Saturday night at Joe Aillet Stadium.

Good news came Tech's way today as Sterling Griffin was granted a sixth year of eligibility.

Thursday gave a different look to practice as not only did the team get out of the hot August afternoon and practice under the light but the newcomers at quarterback were put on the spot.

Coach Holtz has mentioned that Ryan Higgins and Cody Sokol have separated themselves from the pack but Thursdays practice saw Higgins and Sokol sit during team periods with Taylor Burch, Price Wilson and Alex Woodall being forced to step up to the plate and perform. See what Coach Holtz thought of the practice.

Tomorrow (Friday) the team heads over the Shreveport for an open practice and meet-n-greet at Independence Stadium.

Back in two-a-days today and a young offense is starting to sort itself out while an experienced defense is honing its skills.

It's not just the fact that the offense is beginning to find a rhythm, albeit sporadically. What is most noticable about this team to date is the leadership set by example on the field. A lot of positive encouragement from teammates if a mistake is made with an emphasis on correcting the mistake. Players are teaching other players.

  Monday, August 11

Despite Monday's downpour Louisiana Tech was not only able to practice but the Bulldogs did so twice! Lightning may have prevented the first two-a-day on Saturday but LA Tech waited out the weather today, getting in two good sessions.

The morning session was on the Tech Practice Fields and lasted for approximately two hours with another two hour session in the evening at Joe Aillet Stadium.

Saturday's postponed session was made up Sunday morning.

  Saturday, August 9

Rain, Rain, Go Away! Inclement weather approaching the Ruston area forced the coaching staff to cancel Saturday's evening practice, pushing the official start of two-a-days back to Monday.

However, the team did get in a spirited two hour practice in helmets and shorts in the morning.

  Friday, August 8

Full pads = more emotion and bigger hits. That didn't disappoint today as both sides played with a high level of intensity and emotion while the offense fought back for some of the pride lost in Thursday's practice.

Plenty of video reports listed on the right to sum up today's session.

  Thursday, August 7

The defense definitely got the better of a young offense today. However, that's not very surprising early in camp with a lot of newcomers on the offensive side of the ball.

Day two had great news come out of camp in the morning as LA Tech announced that it will hold an open practice and a Meet-N-Greet session at Shreveport's Independence Stadium on Aug. 15. That will be followed the next day by the annual Fan Fest event at Argent Pavilion in Ruston.

This quote of the day comes from head coach Skip Holtz on the defense: "They are flying around right now and they are playing with a stinger, playing with a little bit of a swagger on the defensive side of the ball.”

  Monday, August 4

Day one is in the books! Monday marked a great first day of practice as the Bulldogs began preparing for the 2014 season. Most noticable thing on the field: the experience in the secondary. A year after starting the season with little to no experience, the secondary is now composed of a veteran squad of guys that are comfortable with the playbook and style of play.
