Trey Haverty

Trey Haverty joins the Louisiana Tech coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach for the defense. Haverty comes to Louisiana Tech after spending three years at TCU as a graduate assistant with the Horned Frogs, where he helped coach the nation's top-ranked defense in 2009.

Haverty joined TCU after serving as wide receivers coach in 2006. His first coaching position was at Midlothian High School in 2004.

As a senior at Texas Techh in 2004, Haverty led the Big 12 in receptions (7&) while placing second in receiving yards (1,019). Originally a walk-on player, Havery was a second team All-American by Sports Illustrated and a third team Associated Press All-American pick.

Haverty had 110 receptions for 1,326 yards and seven touchdowns in his Red Raider career (2001-04).

"Trey is an outstanding coach with a great future ahead of him," Dykes said. "We are so fortunate to have him join us here at Louisiana Tech. He brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge about the game and we are very fortunate to get him."
