Peter Hopkins joined the Louisiana Tech staff in 2013 as an offensive graduate assistant coach working primarily with the skill position players.
Hopkins came to Ruston after a two-year stint as the running backs coach at Tyler Junior College where he began work on his master's degree in health and kinesiology.
Prior to Tyler Junior College, Hopkins was a student assistant coach for one year at Sam Houston State.
Hopkins graduated from Sam Houston State with a Bachelor's degree in kinesiology and secondary education in 2010. He spent two seasons (2007-08) playing tight end for the Bearkats and helped lead the No. 2 ranked offense in the nation, averaging 541 yards and 44 points per game.
Before Sam Houston State, Hopkins played quarterback at Tyler Junior College from 2006-07, earning his Associate's degree in 2007.
