Scott Vestal

Scott Vestal enters his first season in Ruston as a member of the Louisiana Tech football program where he will serve as the Bulldogs defensive graduate assistant coach.

Prior to coming to LA Tech, Vestal spent that past two seasons at North Texas where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the Mean Green.

Vestal spent four years at SMU on Phil Bennett's staff, including two years as the school's defensive graduate assistant coach.

He began his graduate work as an assistant to the SMU Director of Football Operations in 2003 before becoming the video graduate assistant in 2004. Before that he spent 2002 as an assistant football coach at Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas.

The Dallas, Texas native played safety at Arlington Lamar High School.

Vestal earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a minor in history from Texas A&M in 2003 and a master's degree in liberal arts.
