Van Hoy To Play In Villages Gridiron Classic

Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Chris Vay Hoy has been selected to play for the South squad in The Villages Gridiron Classic, Saturday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. in The Villages, Fla.

The game will be aired live on ESPN2.

Van Hoy (6-4, 314) of Duncanville, Texas, played all four seasons for the Bulldogs, and was a second-team All-Western Athletic Conference defensive lineman in 2004.

The senior posted very impressive numbers during the 2004 season, finishing with 18 solo tackles, 27 assisted stops and 45 total tackles. He also was one of the team and conference leaders with eight tackles for loss for minus 50 yards and 5.5 sacks for minus 46 yards.

He also forced two fumbles during the season while proving his value on the Bulldog special teams with two blocked field goals.

Van Hoy totaled 171 tackles, 10.5 sacksand five forced fumbles during his career at Tech.

The game will be played at Villages Polo Stadium and will feature 99 college seniors from 62 schools.
