RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech head football coach Skip Holtz has announced the signing of offensive lineman Blake Sharp to a National Letter of Intent Friday.

Sharp joins two mid-quarter enrollees - Sanford Seay and Kirby Wixson - as additions to the program. He is expected to enroll at Louisiana Tech for the spring quarter and will join Seay and Wixson in time for spring practice.

A 6-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from East Mississippi Community College, Sharp anchored an offensive line that led the Lions to a perfect 12-0 mark in 2013 and a national championship. East Mississippi led the nation in scoring offense (62.3 points per game) and set a new single-season NJCAA team record for total offensive yards (7,327). A product of Heritage (Miss.) High School, he was an all-state defensive lineman that notched 111 tackles and 11 sacks for a loss of 69 yards his senior year.

Prospective student-athletes are not officially signees of the school until their National Letter of Intent has been returned to and announced by the University.

The primary National Signing Day will be on Feb. 5, 2014 when Louisiana Tech will announce its full signing class.
