RUSTON - Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Bruce Van De Velde has been appointed to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Football Issues Committee.
The NCAA Football Issues Committee's main responsibility is to certify all Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) bowl games, including any new bowl games in the future.
Van De Velde, who is entering his second year as the athletics director at Louisiana Tech, came to the University with impressive credentials, having served as an administrator in intercollegiate athletics for over 20 years.
He served as athletics director at Iowa State University and Utah State University and as a senior administrator at the University of Oklahoma, University of Missouri and Kansas State University.
The appointment to the NCAA committee is not Van De Velde's first as he served previously on the NCAA Championships and Competitions Committee and the NCAA Financial Aid Committee.
